Working with Finglas Tidy Towns, Finglas Historical Society, Finglas Village Renewal and Paul Callery of the Dublin Brigade Irish Volunteers we will be commemorating Dick McKee and the anniversary of his death this November.
People of Finglas and beyond are invited to a community commemoration which will take place at 1pm after mass on Sunday 22nd of November 2015 at the Dick McKee Memorial.
The event will include an account by Tony Smullen Chairperson of the Historical Society of how the McKee monument was erected.
Afterwards we will have tea and coffee and there will be an opportunity to view all the documents associated with the erection of the monument in 1951, the committee and sponsors who made it happen.
Please spread the word to anyone you know who would be interested in attending. The more groups and community organisations that get involved the more successful it will be.
All elected representatives for the area have been invited to ensure there is an inclusive and cross community celebration.
